Exhibition Review

After exhibiting “Discovery” in 2017, Elnaz Bandegi has presented another collection in Azad Art Gallery titled as “Touch”.

Touch is artist’s mental study of the memories that have lost their linear sequence and have become a painting act which have turned to drawing and painting on canvas and paper from her subconscious territory.

The melancholy atmosphere of seemingly unrelated works and paintings is in fact a vague review of the memories that Bandegi has been dealing with during her thirty-three-year life.

In some of the works there are long nails which have pierced the work and have left a bite as a punctum that no one is excluded from having it.

At the end, Elnaz Bandegi invites us to search for memories to refer them apart from their time and place and simultaneously feel their pain and pleasure.
