Exhibition Review

The Earth Is Mine

In previous exhibitions of Rasoul Soultani, we were faced with a blending of colors and their mixture with the artist’s insights. He uses everyday cultural elements in his works. For instance, in one of his previous exhibitions, he had illustrated comic figures such as Mickey Mouse and Lucky Luke.

He has also worked in cinema which is visible through his use of sensible and identifiable elements.

His works in this latest series are composed of animals’ images that are somehow derived from his lived experience. Soultani has illustrated his life in north of Iran and whatever he has seen and heard there. Like his earlier works, these works also communicate easily with the audience, though the contents are more personal and indigenous than previous ones.
