The sparks of this idea of the series “Where Are You?” goes back to the time when I was working beside my studies. It was as if I sometimes forgot where I am and was forgetting the moment. Where I was? What effect did I have in that place and what effect did those places have on me? I got to thinking that maybe most of us are experiencing this in some way and we are constantly moving in a rush and at a high speed.
This inner feeling gradually turned into an idea, and sharing a self portrait on my Instagram page, I asked others where they are. I asked my audience and the people around me to reply that question by sending me a selfie from themselves.
From all these photographs, I started drawing on wax paper. It was part of my idea to be able to see under the paper. The result was consisting of some drawings placed on top of each other, creating the final image.
This shall also be mentioned that I brought up this idea in the class of Mr. Choubtarash, and with his help, the project was gradually completed and submitted for my thesis, and I am still working on this process.
