In my opinion, Iran’s contemporary art is now in a position that its quality and quantity have never been so high. After passing from the temptation of market and auctions, Iran’s art has returned to its calm atmosphere and is being noticed and changed more than any other time. The presence and emergence of a new generation of artists who despite the socio-political limitations, try eagerly, think more seriously and work with more creativity in order to create a new discourse in contemporary world and a global attention to the dynamic scene of contemporary art in Iran through their own work, which like their living culture is layered and deep, promises brighter days for Iranian art.
Though it may seem that economic problems have limited the presence of Iranian contemporary art in global scene, which is somewhat true, but the reality is that instead of hearing the names of Iranian artists in auctions and art fairs, today we are proud of their presence in museums, festivals and contemporary art events around the world; this means that Iran’s contemporary art is finding its global status.
