Robert Shahbazi is a naturalist photographer who held his first group exhibition in 1984, and now we are faced with his exhibition from his latest works titled as “Color.. Sonnet.. Rain..” at Aban Art House, as the result of his photography in more than thirty years.
Nature photography is a genre in photography that many photographers usually start their work with. Documenting pure nature inevitably gives the photographer a beautiful photo which would be motivating; Nature is a great teacher for artists. However, there are few photographers who choose nature to continue their artistic career with. Shahbazi is one of those photographers who has had a continuous effort and progress in this field.
His unique technique in nature photography has a lot of mental explorations for the audience. According to his sayings, the first question that the audience asks while confronting his works, is that “How did you take this picture?”
Shahbazi in his book “Color.. Sonnet.. Rain..” has consciously used colors by focusing on some seasons of the year that have more color variety, but unlike the book, the works presented in the frames in the gallery have been printed in lower quality.
On the other hand, placing two frames from Persepolis has caused a visual gap in the uniformity of the exhibition, because it is totally different from the other works of this photographer in the terms of content and technique.
